Robin Art Tile 4x4
Robin Art Tile 4x4
Robin Art Tile: A Hand-Sculpted Symbol of Renewal Celebrate the arrival of spring with the Robin Art Tile, originally hand-sculpted by Rick Pruckler to capture the alert and hopeful silhouette of the American Robin. Part of our nature-inspired collection, each 4x4" tile is hand-pressed in our Michigan studio using locally sourced porcelain and finished with Rick’s proprietary, small-batch glazes. Because we work in limited runs, every tile features subtle variations in finish—ensuring your piece is a one-of-a-kind original that brings a cheerful, tactile energy to any space.
Product Specifications and Versatility Measuring approximately 3.75" x 3.75" (nominal 4x4") with a raised relief of 0.5" or less, this tile is designed for both artistic display and architectural use. It includes a pre-cut notch on the back for easy hanging as wall art, but its museum-quality porcelain body—fired to nearly 2230°F—makes it exceptionally durable for permanent installations like kitchen backsplashes or bathroom accents. It is fully vitrified, moisture-resistant, and heat-resistant; if used outdoors in freezing temperatures, simply ensure it is installed or kept in a vertical position.
The Maker’s Process and Mission Every Robin tile is a labor of love, following a meticulous journey from an original sculpture to a hand-pressed clay form that is air-dried and double-fired for maximum durability. At Whistling Frog Gallery, we believe art should give back, which is why a percentage of every sale is donated to the organizations listed on our Community page. All tiles are made to order and ship from our studio in under two weeks. Our custom 4x4" tile stands are also available for separate purchase to help you display this harbinger of spring on any shelf or mantel.
