Bird with Nest Art Tile 4x4
Bird with Nest Art Tile 4x4
Bird with Nest art tile was sculpted by Tonya.
Materials: made in Michigan porcelain and Rick's specially formulated glaze. Using Rick's time tested recipes, we make small batches of glaze. Working small like we do, allows for variations in the glazes, creating one of a kind pieces. All of our tiles are handmade in our Michigan studio. This tile measures 3.75 x 3.75”, nominal size-4x4", with raised relief of .5" or less.
There is a notch on back for hanging, yet if you wish to install, it's also suitable for that too. If used outdoors in freezing temperatures, just make sure to keep it vertical. Purchase our 4x4" tile stand separately.
Here’s a quick ‘How’s it made?’ breakdown: We sculpt the original design, make a plaster mold, press in clay, wait for drying, fire in kiln, glaze, fire again to about 2230 degrees and then cool.
We donate a percentage of each tile sold to one of the organizations listed on the 'Community' page of our website. Check it out. It’s feel good time!

The Bird with Nest Art Tile is a masterful observation of one of nature's most delicate architectures. For the backyard birder and the conservation-minded collector, this tile serves as a permanent celebration of the "Land Ethics" that protect our feathered neighbors.
A Tribute to Avian Artistry & Habitat:
High-Relief Avian Portraiture: This isn't just a tile; it’s a field study in porcelain. The high-relief design captures the protective stance of a songbird over its nest, rendered with the anatomical precision that Audubon enthusiasts admire.
Artisan Small-Batch Glazes: Each 4x4" tile is hand-pressed and finished with signature glazes that mirror the earthy tones of the forest floor and the soft sky of a spring morning. No two tiles are identical, reflecting the unique variations found in the wild.
Enduring Heritage Quality: Fired to nearly 2230°F, this museum-quality porcelain is as resilient as the birds it depicts. It is waterproof and heat-resistant, making it an ideal choice for a kitchen backsplash overlooking a bird feeder or a garden-themed bathroom installation.
For the Bird-Friendly Home: Whether displayed as a standalone wall piece via its built-in notch or integrated into a custom tile project, this piece speaks to a deep love for the natural world. A percentage of every sale is donated to community organizations, supporting the preservation of the habitats that inspire our work.
