Kingfisher Art Tile 6x6
Kingfisher Art Tile 6x6
Kingfisher art tile was sculpted by Tonya.
Our Kingfisher Art Tile is a stunning piece of functional art that brings the vibrant, energetic spirit of this beloved bird into your home.
For the Bird Enthusiast & Renovation Customer: This nominal 4x4" porcelain tile is specifically designed to be integrated into your home's permanent fixtures. The Kingfisher's association with water makes it an ideal, beautiful accent for:
Bathroom & Shower Surrounds: Use the waterproof tile to create a unique bird-themed border or inset near a tub.
Kitchen Backsplash: A striking focal point behind the sink or stove for bird watchers who love to incorporate nature into their design.
Sunrooms/Conservatories: Complements indoor gardens and areas with large windows overlooking bird feeders.
Sculpted with deep, lifelike detail, the tile's high-relief design and rich glazes ensure this artisan piece stands out, providing a custom, high-end finish to your renovation project.
For the Bird Lover & Gift Buyer: With a notch on the back, this high-quality ceramic tile is also a ready-to-hang, unforgettable gift for any ornithology enthusiast or collector of nature-themed art.
Materials: made in Michigan porcelain and Rick's specially formulated glaze. Using Rick's time tested recipes, we make small batches of glaze. Working small like we do, allows for variations in the glazes, creating one of a kind pieces. All of our tiles are handmade in our Michigan studio. This tile measures 5.75 x 5.75”, nominal size of 6x6”, with raised relief of .5” or less.
There is a notch on back for hanging, yet if you wish to install, it's also suitable for that too. If used outdoors in freezing temperatures, just make sure to keep it vertical. Purchase our 6x6” tile stand separately.
Here’s a quick ‘How’s it made?’ breakdown: We sculpt the original design, make a plaster mold, press in clay, wait for drying, fire in kiln, glaze, fire again to about 2230 degrees and then cool.
We donate a percentage of each tile sold to one of the organizations listed on the 'Community' page of our website. Check it out. It’s feel good time!
